The Charleston Farmer's Market at Marion Square opens back up for the season next weekend (April 7th) and will be in business every Saturday until December. For those East of the Cooper, the Mount Pleasant Farmer's Market, which is held on Tuesday nights and features many of the same vendors as the Marion Square version, begins April 10th. Both are great places to find fresh, local produce and other tasty treats. I've been having pretzel and fresh-squeezed lemonade withdrawal for several months now, so I'm ready.
Shane's Rib Shack has arrived in Mount Pleasant. Part of the Raving Brands stable of franchises (which includes Moe's, Mama Fu's, and Planet Smoothie) it's a "fast-casual concept" focused on barbecued ribs and chicken.
West Ashley Bait & Tackle has closed its doors after losing its chef. I'm sad to see this one go.
Jeff Allen and Stephanie Barna of the Charleston City Paper recently caught up with celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain at Big John's Tavern.
For you corn dog and fried turkey leg fans, opening night for the Charleston River Dogs is Thursday, April 5th, kicking off a solid eight-game home stand.
